Reunited - Finding Long Lost Relatives
I love all kinds of reunions. High School reunions. College reunions. Large family summer picnic reunions. Even the reunions I see at the airport in baggage claim. (Yes, the airport scene in Love Actually is one of my favorite movie scenes.)
But long-lost family reunions are probably the reason I became a genealogist. It’s exciting to discover someone’s family history and reunite them with the stories of their ancestors and sometimes even long lost relatives.
As humans, we all have a desire to connect and belong. A family gives us that but unfortunately because of adoption, estrangement, and lots of other reasons, sometimes we become separated from our families. Now thanks to genealogy, DNA test kits, social media, and good ole’ sleuthing, family reunions around the world are happening every day.
If you’re looking for your long- lost family and using DNA test kits, these stories can provide you some search tips.
